On the last Friday of June, as part of the series “Kameralnie nad Korzeniówką (Chamber music by the Korzeniówka river)” in the Scientific and Administrative Center of the Museum of Folk Musical Instruments in Szydlowec took place a piano recital by Michel Bourdoncle – renowned on the world’d stages, French pianist, chamber musician, organizer and music director of the International Festival “Piano Nights” in Aix-en-Provence.
Michel Bourdoncle is an expressive artist, with a particular appreciation for the late Romantic repertoire. This expressivness became the dominant feature of the concert.
Atmospheric, imbued with „masculine lyricism” Brahms (Interzzi) introduced Beethoven’s Pathetic Sonata, which charms with one of the most beautiful passages in musical literature – Adagio cantabile (Part II).
Liszt’s Sonata in B minor, one of the masterpieces of piano literature and a staple of the repertoire of the most outstanding pianists in the interpretation of Michel Bourdoncle, was a real highlight of the program. Deeply experienced, thoughtful and coherent, it left a lot of room for reflection in the hearts of the music lovers.
Michel Bourdoncle has more concerts ahead of him. The European concert tour will lead him soon to the cities of Italy and France.
