Temporary Exhibition: „From the Świętokrzyskie Region. Deposits of the National Museum in Kielce”
In commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Museum of Folk Musical Instruments’ opening to visitors, this exhibition pays homage to its origins—the inaugural permanent display, distinguished by its thematic depth and remarkable collection of traditional musical instruments.
The exhibition underscores the significance of artisanal craftsmanship in the creation of musical instruments and highlights the rich cultural heritage of the Świętokrzyskie region.
The exhibited items, on loan from the National Museum in Kielce, were meticulously crafted by regional folk artisans in Świętokrzyskie workshops. Beyond their aesthetic and historical value, these instruments serve as enduring testaments to the musical sensibilities of the local community.
Opening on June 15, 2025, this exhibition forms an integral part of the Craft Day celebrations in Szydłowiec, reinforcing the role of folk artisans as custodians of tradition.
The return to these artifacts after half a century not only prompts reflection on the museum’s legacy but also serves as a tribute to the authenticity, timelessness, and cultural significance of local craftsmanship.
